Community Service - The Shriners Hospital Program

As a fixture in the NYC area for over 40 years, Mr. Tires Automotive, inc. feels the need to give back to the community and those in need through it's charitable contributions. Our annual contributions include, CCMP (the Coalition for Concerned Medical Professionals), THASC (organization for the handicapped), NY Order of Police, Fireman's Fund, United Postal Workers, Albany Youth Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Cancer Center, as well as various churches, temples, schools and youth centers in the NYC area. Fortunately, at Mr. Tires Automotive, inc. we have a soft spot for children. Starting in January of 2000, we incorporated a donation program in collaboration with the Shriners Hospital for Children. For every set of tires sold at Mr. Tires Automotive, inc. , a 5-dollar donation is made to the Shriners Hospital. Shriners Hospital for Children is a network of pediatric specialty hospitals, where children under the age of 18 receive excellent medical care absolutely free of charge. There are 18 orthopedic hospitals, three hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns, and one hospital also offering spinal cord injury care. Shriners hospitals are located throughout North America-20 are in the United States and one each in Canada and Mexico. These 'centers of excellence' serve as a major referral centers for children with complex orthopedic and burn problems.

There is never a charge to the patient, parent or any third party for any service or medical treatment received at Shriners Hospitals. Shriners accepts and treats children without regard to race, religion or color. All the orthopedic hospitals are equipped and staffed to treat children with congenital orthopedic deformities, problems resulting from orthopedic injuries, and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The hospitals also treat children needing plastic reconstructive or restorative surgery as a result of 'healed' burns, children with severe scarring, resulting in contractures or interference with mobility of the limbs, and children with scarring and deformity of the face.
