The most common line we hear from a customer with an A/C problem is "My A/C isn't working, I think I just need a shot of freon." With the proper Air Conditioning system diagnosis and repair, that one shot of freon will probably be the last that car will need for a while.
Proper equipment and experience is essential in diagnosing and repairing Air Conditioning system problems. Chances are if you're A/C system is not functioning properly, one of its operating components are faulty, or there is an obstruction or leak in the system.
Mr. Tires Automotive, inc. will NOT inject any Freon into any A/C system until an Air Conditioning check is performed. An exact evaluation of a faulty system allows for proper repair, eliminates the guesswork, and ensures your charged A/C system will stay that way. Our A/C technicians are ASE certified and experienced in all areas of A/C repair and service. Mr. Tires Automotive, inc. has the most advanced Air Conditioning service equipment and leak detection equipment in the industry. Diagnosing your A/C system properly, and repairing it correctly the first time will save you much time and aggravation in the future.
As many of you know, the type of Freon now used is different from older vehicles. The older Freon known as R-12 was deemed destructive to our environment and has been replaced by new refrigerant known as 134A. Some R-12 is still around, but its cost is astronomical. Customers with the older Freon have an option of converting to the newer refrigerant in a procedure called 'Retrofitting'. Conversion to 134A can vary in different vehicles, some requiring the replacement of certain A/C components. Simply changing the gas and fittings is not a proper retrofit, and in most cases and will lead to A/C malfunction. Doing the job correctly the first time will ensure proper A/C system function, and avoid costly repairs down the line.
